ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan played a key role in de-escalating tensions between the US and Iran, according to a foreign news agency.

Global news agency Reuters has reported that Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, through successful diplomacy, succeeded in de-escalating the rising tensions between the United States and Iran and to prevent expansion of the conflict.

According to the report, these three countries have been extending diplomatic contacts to reduce the existing tension in relations between the US and Iran and are engaging with both parties at various levels for negotiations.

Sources stated that the aim of these efforts is to ensure peace in the region and to avoid any potential armed conflict.

Pakistan’s successful diplomacy in Iran-US conflict

Pakistan has repeatedly said that it is ready to play its role for peace and security in the Middle East, also maintaining balance and neutrality in any mediation process.

Turkey and Egypt have also emphasised their involvement in this process to reduce regional tensions and prevent negative impact of the conflict on the global economy.

According to the analysts, there are multiple factors contributing to the escalation of tensions in US-Iran relations.

they said that these mediation efforts are a positive step and, if successful, could reduce the risk of war in the region.

Reuters also reported that no immediate statement was received from the officials of both countries on the issue.
