ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a statement on X, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has rejected Indian claims of shooting down F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets, as Indian media on Thursday reported that the Indian defence system has shot down two Pakistani fighter jets.
“Absurd and false claims being made by India”, the minister said, adding that fake and concocted stories will get you nowhere.
“Such false claims only reflect your desperation. Denied and rejected,” Tarar wrote on X.

‘Pakistani pilot not arrested’
Fact Checker cell of Pakistan’s Ministry of Information has termed the reports regarding a Pakistani pilot in Indian custody ‘fake’.
In an interview with a local media channel, the information minister said that the claims were “totally false and concocted”.
Earlier, Indian journalist Barkha Dutt reported in a post on X: “A Pakistani pilot is in Indian custody — more details awaited.”
Reports of attacks in occupied Kashmir ‘fake’
After Indian media reported drone attacks in Indian occupied Kashmir and other areas, security forces termed these claims as ‘fake and false’, state media outlet PTV News reports.
Sources added that the purpose of spreading this fake news is to create “the false and failed impression that Pakistan is also attacking India”.
“These fake reports are designed to justify India’s ongoing aggression against Pakistan by creating a false pretext,” they added. “There is no truth to these fabricated claims.”
Security sources further said that such fake news was recently spread regarding an alleged attack in Amritsar. “The aim was to provoke the Sikh community and turn them against Pakistan,” they added.
Sources added that now, Indian media is falsely reporting attacks in occupied Kashmir to once again mislead the public and the international community.
Earlier, Indian media reported that loud explosions were allegedly heard in Jammu and other cities across its regions bordering Pakistan amid reports that the air defence system was intercepting projectiles flying into the Indian territory.
