ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday inaugurated the state-of-the-art ‘Shikra’ monitoring system for passport applications, printing, and overall performance.
He inaugurated the system during his visit to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports in Islamabad.
The statement said that a 24/7 Monitoring Room and Call Center have also been made operational at the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports. On the directives of the Interior Minister, the Emergency Travel Document system has been digitized as well.
The new system will ensure real-time monitoring of passport applications and deliveries, both within Pakistan and abroad, it said, adding that from the submission of an application to final delivery, every stage will be monitored.
Mohsin Naqvi said the government is committed to ensuring the provision of fast and secure services of international standard to citizens.
