ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has decided not to send the Pakistan junior hockey team to India due to security concerns.
According to sources, this decision was taken in a high-level consultative meeting, in which a detailed review of the security situation of the players in Indian cities was conducted.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation has officially informed the International Hockey Federation (FIH) about the government’s decision.
Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation, Rana Mujahid, gave the FIH the option of a neutral venue for Pakistan’s matches.
The Junior Hockey World Cup will start in India from November 28 and will continue till December 11.
It should be noted that earlier, the Pakistan senior hockey team could not participate in the Asia Cup in India due to security reasons.
