The Downdetector Pakistan website showed that multiple reports were received about the PTCL disruption from users. At 10:23 pm, the users reported 109 complaints about the PTCL slowdown across Pakistan.

Earlier, media sources reported that internet speed has become a major challenge during peak hours across the country due to backend issues on two undersea cable routes and data traffic congestion on the remaining submarine cables connecting Pakistan to the international network.
Last month, major Internet Service Providers (ISPs), including Nayatel and the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), announced that emergency maintenance was being carried out on one of the country’s undersea cables. Nayatel said in a post on X that the work, which began around 11 a.m., could last up to 18 hours and cause Internet slowness across Pakistan.
Earlier in September, PTCL warned that cuts to submarine internet cables in Saudi waters would likely impact internet services in the country during peak hours. Internet users across Pakistan complained of slow internet and hindered access to services throughout 2025 and 2024.
