NAKHON PHANOM, Thailand (Kashmir English): Pakistan will face Iran in the final of the Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship here today (July 19) after they beat India 3-0 in the semi-final on Friday.
The final match of the tournament will be played at 3:30pm PKT today. on Friday, Pakistan continued its dream run at the 2nd Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship in Thailand by defeating arch-rivals India in the semi-final by winning three straight sets (25-16, 25-19, and 25-12).
Wonderful performance from Junaid, Faizan, Irfan, and Talha powered the Green Shirts into the Final and one step closer to the glory.
On Wednesday, Pakistan reserved a berth in the semi-finals of the tournament and also secured their place in the next year’s FIVB U-17 World Championship after defeating Indonesia in straight sets in the quarter-final. Pakistan outperformed Indonesia as they won the game 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20.
Volleyball championship’s group stage
Earlier in the group stage, Pakistan had defeated South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Chinese Taipei to advance to the knockout round.
