NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In a recent development, the Colonel Asif Awan Shaheed Cricket and Polo Tournament concluded with great enthusiasm at Falcon Ground, Kel.
A total of 12 teams from across the division participated in the cricket tournament. The final match was won by Al-Fajr Team Muzaffarabad.
The tournament was organized by (Colonel Asif Awan Shaheed Foundation with the support of the Pakistan Army. The special guest of the tournament was Minister for Local Government Faisal Mumtaz Rathore. The Minister for Law and Justice also attended.
Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Mumtaz Rathore and Minister for Law Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate were given a grand welcome on their arrival at Falcon Ground.
The Minister for Local Government attended the closing ceremony of the Colonel Asif Awan Cricket Tournament as the special guest. On this occasion, a decorated contingent of the Pakistan Army saluted the visiting team.
Colonel Asif Awan Shaheed’s brother, Deputy Chief Minister Shahrat, presided over the event. The Minister for Local Government watched the final match between Pasban Kashmir Nagdar and Al-Fajr and encouraged the players for their excellent performance.
Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Minister for Law Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate, presented the trophy to the winning team, Al-Fajr, while cash prizes, shields, and medals were also given to the players for their outstanding performance.
Polo teams also participated in the tournament. Addressing the closing ceremony on this occasion, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that the Pakistan Army, led by Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, brought glory to the country by defeating the enemy.
