ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian-registered flights using its airspace, according to a notification posted by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) onWednesday.

The restriction is set to remain in effect from December 25, 2025, through January 23, 2026, according to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).

The restriction is imposed on all aircraft owned and-operated by Indians, as well as aircraft leased by them from foreign nations.

Pakistan initially imposed the ban in April, during the time of tension with India, and has since extended the ban at intervals.

Initially, the fire that ignited the latest conflict between these long-standing adversaries was an attack on April 22 in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), killing 26 persons, all of whom were mostly tourists.

The restrictions have already resulted in millions of dollars in costs as Indian airlines are forced to take an alternative route, thereby increasing the time and fuel consumption between India and the European, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian destinations.
