COLOMBO (Kashmir English): Pakistan has won the toss and opted to bat first against New Zealand in the Super Eight match.
Meanwhile, due to rain in Colombo the match has not been started and is likely to resume shortly.
Fakhar Zaman has been included in the playing XI in place of Khawaja Nafay for the match against New Zealand.
Pakistan’s playing XI includes Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha (captain), Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan (wicketkeeper), Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Mirza and Usman Tariq.
It should be noted that there is a possibility of rain in the match between Pakistan and New Zealand. According to the rules of the International Cricket Council, no reserve day has been allocated for the Super 8 matches of the T20 World Cup 2026.
If due to rain both teams are unable to play at least 5 overs per innings, the match will be cancelled and both teams will be given one point each.
