Oman’s national hockey team arrives in Lahore for four-match series

LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Oman national hockey team Sunday landed in Lahore for a four-match series against Pakistan’s junior hockey team.

Consisting of 19 players and 8 officials, the Oman squad was warmly welcomed by representatives from the Pakistan Hockey Federation at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport.

The upcoming series will see two matches played in Lahore on April 8 and 9, followed by two matches in the federal capital Islamabad on April 11 and 12.

Pakistan hockey team preparations

The series is part of Pakistan’s hockey team preparations for the AHF Cup, set to take place in Jakarta from April 17.

The AHF Cup serves as a qualifier for the Asia Cup, with the top two teams from the tournament earning a spot in the competition scheduled to be held in Rajgarh, India, later this year. Pakistan has already qualified for the Asia Cup.
