ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): NEPRA has advised the government to maintain the basic per-unit electricity tariff.
This decision ensures no increase in electricity cost for households across the country.
According to NEPRA, the maximum tariff for household consumers would be Rs. 47.97 per unit.
It is especially good news for people whose consumption stays below 100 to 300 units of electricity each month.
| Category | Consumption Slab | Tariff (Rs. per unit) |
|---|---|---|
| Protected Consumers | 1–100 units | Rs. 10.54 |
| 101–200 units | Rs. 13.01 | |
| Non-Protected Household Consumers | 1–100 units | Rs. 22.44 |
| 101–200 units | Rs. 28.91 | |
| Higher Consumption Slabs | 201–300 units | Rs. 33.10 |
| 301–400 units | Rs. 37.99 | |
| Up to 500 units | Rs. 40.42 | |
| 501–600 units | Rs. 41.62 | |
| 601–700 units | Rs. 42.67 |
NEPRA has, however, underlined that the said decision shall be implemented w.e.f. January 1, 2026, while clarifying that the rate of a single unit will not increase for any category of consumer throughout Pakistan.
This move is particularly welcome for consumers using 100 to 300 units per month, as they will not face any tariff hike.
NEPRA’s decision is being hailed as a major stride in favour of electricity consumers, ensuring stability in monthly electric bills
