ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has allowed an increase of Rs1.19 per unit under the Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) mechanism for April 2026 and allowed a reduction of Rs1.98 per unit in the first quarterly adjustment of 2026.
According to a notification issued by the regulator, the Rs1.19 per unit hike will be charged from the entire country and also from K-Electric consumers and will be reflected in the electricity bills of June 2026.
The notification said that month-wise adjustment has been allowed upon request of the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), which requested an increase of Rs 1.73 per unit for April 2026.
Meanwhile, NEPRA has allowed a reduction of Rs1.98 per unit in the first quarterly adjustment of 2026 and said the reduction of Rs1.98 per unit is expected to benefit the consumers with an amount of more than Rs67 billion.
The notification said that the quarterly adjustment will be applicable from the electricity bills of June, July, and August, under which the consumers will be provided the relief of Rs1.98 per unit for the three months.
The notification added that the relief will also be provided to the entire country and also to K-Electric customers, excluding lifeline consumers.
