MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Muzaffarabad has distributed eco-friendly bags free of cost among the citizens for the safe collection and disposal of sacrificial animal offal during the Eid-ul-Adha, starting from June 7.
The bags have been provided to the elected councilors of 32 wards of the city and members of special seats under special cleaning arrangements.
The purpose of these bags is to collect waste after the sacrifice and deliver it to specific places, assigned for dumping.
Municipal Corporation mayor said that the main objective of the initiative is to keep the city clean on Eid-ul-Adha and to prevent environmental pollution.
The Mayor said that these bags have been made from eco-friendly materials and the citizens are appealed to put the waste in these bags and keep it at the designated places.
If the waste is collected at the designated place, the staff will be able to complete the cleaning process on time. The Municipal Corporation is also conducting an awareness campaign among the citizens to raise awareness about cleanliness and the environment.
