MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The court of the Senior Civil Judge, Muzaffarabad has issued arrest warrants against a retired Deputy Tehsildar for contempt of court.

According to details, in the case of Zulfiqar Ali Awan versus Mir Akram and others, the court had ordered a one-year extension in the transfer, directing to maintain the transfer.

Despite court orders, Deputy Tehsildar Mir Gulfraz, just before retirement, cancelled the said transfer on February 15, 2026, upon which the affected party filed a contempt of court application.

Tehsildar was earlier summoned on March 10

The court issued notices to Mir Gulfraz and others on March 10, 2026, but due to non-compliance with the order, the Senior Civil Judge took strict action and issued arrest warrants against them.

The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for May 4, 2026, where further legal developments are expected.

Zulfiqar Ali Awan had recently narrated how the transfer of his land was cancelled even though the government had allotted the land to him and his son.

According to sources, Deputy Tehsildar Mir Gulfraz retired recently and will now have to face court proceedings.
