MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In preparation for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad and Chairman District Coordination Committee Mudassar Farooq.
In the meeting, important decisions were taken to maintain law and order and protect the lives and property of the people during the last days of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 in light of the instructions of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
The Deputy Commissioner, while issuing instructions to all the concerned institutions, said that during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, which will be from March 31 to April 02, the officers and staff of emergency services institutions including the district administration, police, municipality, electricity, public health, civil defense and Rescue 1122 will be exempted from the Eid holidays.
The concerned officers and staff of emergency services will remain present in their respective offices and will be alert for all possible action in case of any emergency.
Other district officers will ensure their presence and, in case of absence, provide the details of the replacement officer by 28th Ramadan.
A central district control room has been set up in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where representatives of the police, highways department, Rescue 1122, municipal corporation, and health department have been deployed, who will be in touch with the control room set up in the Chief Secretary’s office.
The police have prepared a special security plan for Eid gatherings, and the health department has prepared a contingency plan, while Rescue 1122 has been directed to submit water rescue duty rosters.
Furthermore, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Industries and Trade Department, and the Health Department will ensure the provision of petrol and medical facilities in their respective areas.
The Municipal Corporation will make arrangements for cleaning important tourist spots and graveyards during Eid. Given security concerns, instructions have been issued to the preachers and organizers at the Eid gathering venues to take security measures.
In addition, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, DSP and Municipal Magistrate will hold meetings with hotel owners to ensure that excessive rent is not charged from tourists.
Under Section 144, a complete ban has been imposed on one-wheeling, aerial firing, kite flying, begging, and bathing in the river, which will be strictly enforced by the police.
The Electricity Department will ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Chand Raat and Eid congregations.
The administration has directed the public to immediately contact the concerned magistrate in case of overcharging.
All possible steps are being taken to maintain public safety and law and order, and in any emergency, the control room can be contacted immediately.
