RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference has announced that it will not be a part of the ongoing efforts to oust Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq.
The party will not vote in a possible parliamentary process and play the role of opposition.
It, however, demanded that a judicial commission be formed to investigate the tragic incidents in Muzaffarabad and Chakswari Block from September 29 to October 2, and the incident in Chamyati Dheerkot, to identify those responsible for the loss of human lives, harm to state officials, and damage to national property.
He also sought indiscriminate legal action against those responsible for the unrest.
A meeting of the Central Core Committee of the Muslim Conference was held at the Central Secretariat in Rawalpindi.
The meeting was presided over by the Conference President and former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, according to a press release.
The meeting decided that the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference will not be a part of the current parliamentary change in Azad Kashmir.
Giving further details about the decisions taken in the meeting, the press release said that the Muslim Conference will, as always, fully uphold the ideology of accession to Pakistan throughout the state.
Muslim Conference demands formation of judicial commission
The Muslim Conference demanded that a judicial commission be formed to investigate the tragic incidents that occurred in Muzaffarabad and Chakswari Block from September 29 to October 2.
The Muslim Conference declared the political, ideological, and intellectual unrest emerging in Azad Kashmir as a serious threat to the state system, state identity, the current status of Azad Kashmir, internal sovereignty, and state unity.
The party reiterated that it will continue to play its role on this front as it has in the past.
To mobilize and organize Muslim Conference workers in Azad Kashmir, President Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and senior leaders will undertake organizational tours throughout the state.
Tributes were paid to the martyrs of Jammu at the meeting, and it was decided that, as every year, this year too, a week of Jammu Martyrs’ Day will be organized from November 6 to November 13.
Muslim Conference workers will organize events and gatherings in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, and around the world in connection with Jammu Martyrs’ Week.
In connection with Jammu Martyrs’ Day Week, a public gathering will be organized on Thursday, November 6, in Barnala constituency, Bhimber district.
The participants decided that a meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Muslim Conference would be held in Rawalpindi on Sunday, November 16.
