MURREE (Kashmir English): The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about heavy snowfall and strong winds, which will affect Murree and Galiyat from Monday evening until Tuesday night.
The fourth major snowfall of the season has led authorities to issue alerts for the area, marking its fourth major snowfall. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, the District Police Officer of Murree, has ordered local police and emergency response units to maintain maximum readiness.
Residents and tourists should avoid unnecessary travel while making sure their vehicles have tire chains, warm clothing, blankets, and essential supplies.
Rescue 1122 teams, together with Murree Traffic Police, have established their presence at important locations. DPO Tanveer issued a warning about heavy snowfall, which would create low visibility conditions that required drivers to use fog lights while carrying additional fuel, tires, and emergency kits.
Snowfall has started in Quetta, Qalat, Mastung, Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, and Chaman and nearby districts. The Meteorological Department forecasts that this weather pattern will continue for the next 48 hours. The authorities are monitoring the situation to protect public safety.
