JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In a tragic incident, a massive fire broke out in Chakkar main bazar, engulfing several shops and material worth millions.
According to the sources, the fire broke out at Qasmia Bakery, located in Chakkar Main Bazar, and quickly spread to other shops, escalating the situation.
The shop owners and locals acted swiftly to put out the fire; however, it did not help. The locals contacted the rescue teams, but despite multiple calls, no rescue official arrived at the scene, infuriating the residents and shop owners.
Despite timely notification of the district administration, the fire brigade unit failed to arrive, leading to significant property damage estimated in crores of rupees.
This incident has sparked intense anger among the public, who are frustrated with the lack of Rescue 1122 services and fire brigade units in Chakar Sub-division.
