MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The medical staff at Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Patikka in Muzaffarabad district have suspended services at the hospital after a violent attack on the Medical Superintendent.

A day earlier, the AJK government minister Sardar Javed Ayub’s wife and former minister Sadaf Sheikh, along with their party workers, attacked the MS THQ Patikka, Dr. Shahid Kamran Yaqoob.

In a notice to the Assistant Commissioner Pattika, the hospital employees have said that services at all departments have been suspended except emergency services.

Condemning the attack and abuse, the hospital administration has sought protection from the government and demanded an impartial inquiry and legal action against the attackers.

The notice alleged the interference in government work and violation of the MS’s self-respect.

“These malicious elements have violated the self-respect of the officer and also the sanctity of the government institution. In this situation, no employee of the institution is safe,” the notice reads.

They announced that the services will remain suspended in protest until legal protection is provided and the abuse is redressed.

It is pertinent to mention that two audios of Sadaf Sheikh also went viral on social media in the past few days, in which she was abusing and threatening a hospital clerk.
