RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was named the team’s best player in the T20 format in 2025. The 31-year-old left-arm spinner and left-handed batsman from Rawalpindi has lived up to the trust of white-ball head coach Mike Hesson and has performed brilliantly in the shorter format throughout the year.
Mohammad Nawaz won the Man of the Series award in the matches against the West Indies in Florida in July 2025 by taking 7 wickets at an average of 21.52. In the 5 matches played between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE in Sharjah in August 2025, he won the Player of the Series award with 120 runs and 10 wickets.
In the tri-series between Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi in November 2025, Mohammad Nawaz once again won the Player of the Series award by taking 52 runs and 10 wickets. In total, Mohammad Nawaz was named the best player 4 times in 26 T20 matches in 2025.
Mohammad Nawaz bowled 74.4 overs for Pakistan and scored 490 runs, with which he took the most wickets at an average of 13.16. The left-handed batsman scored 362 runs at an average of 19.05, his best score not out was 38 runs. He hit 24 fours and 21 sixes while playing at a strike rate of 138.16, which highlighted his all-round abilities.
Mohammad Nawaz’s brilliant performance played a major role in strengthening Pakistan’s T20 team, and he was named the Player of the Year 2025 as a short-format all-rounder.
