ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The hike in the mobile phone prices in Pakistan on 1st January 2026 has come as a sour surprise at the beginning of the year.
The major brands of smartphones, including Infinix, Tecno, and Realme, have lately started implementing new prices in their products. This has even affected entry-level smartphones.
According to market insiders, the three manufacturers have adopted the new pricing as of the first day of 2026. Although the manufacturers have failed to announce the percentage increase, the data indicates an early five percent rise on most models. The impact of the rise has, to some degree, been felt in the lower segments, which are known to have the highest demand.
Tecno and Infinix, the popular brands for affordable smartphones, increased the price of various models from the Smart, Spark, Camon, Hot series, as well as the Note series.
Based on the storage and RAM models of the smartphones, the price has increased by a margin of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per smartphone. Smartphones that were pocket-friendly are now inching towards the mid-range segment.
Realme too has been following the trend of adjusting the prices of Note series as well as C series smartphones.
