PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), have offered free calls to citizens in flood-affected areas of the country to support them during the continuing crisis.
The announcement from the CMOs was made on Sunday. According to a press release, they will be providing free on-net (same network) voice calls to subscribers in the affected areas.
This offer will be available even to telecom customers with zero balance, enabling them to stay connected with their dear ones and emergency services in this critical time.
The PTA stated that more than 72 percent of the disrupted telecom sites have already been restored. “Efforts are underway to restore the remaining sites at the earliest.”
The PTA praised the timely gesture by CMOs in extending support to mobile phone users and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted connectivity.
PTA further assured that it will continue to monitor telecom services in flood-hit regions and provide regular updates.
