MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Maternal Newborn and Child Healthcare (MNCH) employees have been protesting in front of the Central Press Club Muzaffarabad for several days, but no action has been taken by the government.
The protestors include a large number of female MNCH employees along with men.
According to details, 237 MNCH employees have been protesting in front of the Central Press Club for the past 20 days, but no one from the rulers has come to take their news.
A large number of employees are women who have been deprived of their salaries for 13 months, but they are not being made permanent, nor are they being paid salaries.
A widow participating in the protest of MNHC employees said that it has been 15 years since I worked in the program, and I have not received a salary for the last 13 years.
She said that our case is also going on in the court, we have been harassed for the last one and a half years, we have to protest every two or three months, our children are hungry and thirsty, but none of the authorities have taken any action.
The woman said What will we feed the children? Our children have been expelled from schools, now the shopkeepers have stopped providing goods, how will I raise 5 children? raising serious questions on the credibility of the Azad Kashmir government.
While sobbing, the elderly woman added that we have been sitting on a protest for more than 20 days; if the Prime Minister’s sister and daughter were in our place, they would be ashamed. Our plea is only before Allah.
The MNCH employees are urging the government to pay their salaries so that they can live a basic life with their children.
