MIRPUR (Kashmir English): A Mirpur police official scammed two shopkeepers of Rs 100,000, prompting SP Mirpur to issue an order to arrest the cop.
According to the details, the police personnel transferred Rs50,000 from a grocery store in Fazil Chowk to his Easypaisa account yesterday and fled.
The second scam involved another shopkeeper on the same road near Mirza Abdul Qayyum School, from there, he also transferred Rs 50,000 to his Easypaisa account.
When the shopkeeper demanded Rs 50,000, the police employee replied, “Give me some time, you will get the money.”
Even after three or four hours, both shopkeepers could not get their money back. Later, the shopkeeper made the police official remain in their shop until he repaid the money.
SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat was informed about the incident, and he immediately took notice. SSP issued orders to register a case against the official involved in the fraud and to arrest him.
