NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Facebook-owned company Meta has introduced new Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) at its annual conference, Meta Connect.

The move indicates that the company believes in making smart glasses an essential and popular digital device for users around the world.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that this technology is a huge scientific revolution that will revolutionize the daily lives of users.

The company has introduced these devices in partnership with leading eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley.

The new Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses have a colorful, high-resolution screen installed in a lens where users can make video calls and view messages. The glasses also include a 12-megapixel camera.

Meta has also introduced a neural wristband that provides facilities such as sending messages through light hand gestures and can be paired with the glasses.

Mark Zuckerberg, while presenting the features of the smart glasses, said that there were some difficulties in making WhatsApp calls, and the call could not be connected.

Nevertheless, Zuckerberg hopes that these smart accessories will play a central role in incorporating artificial intelligence devices into ordinary life.

According to analysts, smart glasses could be more successful than Meta’s expensive metaverse project because they can be easily used in everyday life.

Meta has sold about 2 million pairs of smart glasses in 2023.

Price of Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses

The new Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses will be available this month for 799 US dollars, which is significantly more expensive than the company’s current models.

In addition, Meta has also introduced Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses priced at $ 499, which are aimed at sports enthusiasts, and the second generation of Ray-Ban Meta glasses will also be available for $ 379.

Meta is currently spending billions of dollars on artificial intelligence research and building data centers.

Mark Zuckerberg said in July that the company would establish huge AI data centers in the United States that would cover an area the size of Manhattan.
