NEELAM VALLEY (Kashmir English): A seven-member Medical Emergency Response Team on Friday left for Muzaffarabad after concluding a fortnight stay in the snow-affected region of Halmat and Grace in the Neelum Valley.
Earlier on January 23, the Medical Emergency Response Team, comprising doctors from the Pakistan Medical Association and the Young Doctors Association, was sent with the support of the Pakistan Army on the instructions of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
The team set up medical camps in Halmat for 15 days and after ending the visit it left for Muzaffarabad under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Sharda Qadir Mughal Naib and Tehsildar Kel Khwaja Farooq.
Additional teams were also dispatched to Sharda, Phulawai, and other areas.
The team was dispatched by Brigadier Imran Cheema after a tea break in the Kel Falcon Brigade. AC Sharda Qadir Mughal and Naib Tehsildar KAIL Khwaja Farooq thanked the Pak Army for their cooperation.
The seven-member medical team included Dr. Waqar Ashraf Butt, Child Specialist, Dr. Arshad Raja, (Additional Medical Officer), Dr. Sajid Ali Gorsi, Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Dr. Sadaf Sarfraz, Dr. Rafia Karim, and Dr. Hina Munawar.
While talking to the media, the residents of Neelum Valley expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and the Pakistan Army, stating that Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has shown great concern for the difficulties faced by the people by sending a special medical team to the snow-affected areas.
They also lauded the Pakistan Army for assisting them in every challenging situation.
