MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a major operation, the Muzaffarabad police have arrested a man for sexually assaulting and blackmailing women through fake job offers.
Under the supervision of SHO Civil Secretariat Inspector Javed Ahmed Gohar, Waqas Ashraf Butt ASI, along with the police team, conducted a successful and powerful operation and arrested the accused, identified as Naheer Asim, resident of Noorpur Nakran, Muzaffarabad.
At the request of a victim woman, the police said, the accused was tracked down using modern technological means and arrested red-handed. Several obscene videos were recovered from the phone.
Police said that the arrested accused used to trap innocent women through social media by posting fake job advertisements.
According to police reports, the accused used to obtain personal data and information through WhatsApp. After inviting the girls to rooms on the pretext of interviews or jobs, he would rape and blackmail them.
Additionally, the Muzaffarabad police have warned the public, especially females, not to trust unknown people on social media and to fully verify any job offer.
