MIRPUR (Kashmir English): High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan Dato Mohammad Azhar bin Mazlan visited Mirpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in an effort to explore new avenues in business and trade.
The High Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission of the High Commission, Mohd. Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah.
General and executive members of the Chamber and former Presidents of MCCI received the High Commissioner at the Chamber.
Former Minister of AJK government Ch. M. Saeed, former President AJK Chamber of Commerce Ch. Sohaib Saeed, Chair District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, and Mayor Mirpur Ch. Usman Khalid were among others present in the meeting.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dato Azhar cherished the government of Pakistan and Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for their focus on agriculture, mentioning that there is a great scope of collaboration in the area of agriculture.
Opportunities for businessmen
President Umar Shehzad discussed investment opportunities for businessmen on both sides.
President MCCI spoke about the conducive environment for investment in AJK as he welcomed all international and domestic investment.
Ambassador Dato Mohammad Azhar expressed his delight to be in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as he appreciated the initiatives taken by the Chamber.
He spoke about investment opportunities in rubber, technology, palm oil, education, and tourism.
Souvenirs were exchanged at the end of the meeting. Ali Raza Syed and recently-elected President Mirpur District Bar Advocate Mahmood Hussain were also present on the occasion.
