LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has set aside a Sessions Court order directing police to register a case against Ramsha Iqbal, sister of actress Momina Iqbal, in connection with an alleged Rs8 million financial dispute.

According to details, the Sessions Court had earlier directed police to register a case against Ramsha following a petition filed by MPA Saqib Chadhar.

The petitioner’s counsel had alleged that Rs8 million had been handed over to Ramsha in connection with arrangements for travel abroad and that the amount had not been returned.

The Sessions Court had ordered registration of the case on allegations of fraud and non-payment.

Ramsha challenged the order before the Lahore High Court. Her counsel argued that the Rs8 million claimed by Saqib Chadhar had already been recovered in 2022 and that the lower court had issued the case-registration order without properly considering the relevant facts.

After hearing arguments from both sides and reviewing the record, the Lahore High Court set aside the Sessions Court’s order, providing relief to Ramsha Iqbal.

The ruling means the earlier direction for registration of the case against her has been annulled.
