Lt Gen Asim Malik to continue as DG ISI and National Security Advisor: Security sources

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik will continue to hold his current responsibilities as the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), security sources said.

Malik, who was due to retire this year, currently serves as the National Security Advisor (NSA) along with his role as DG ISI. He was appointed to DG ISI in September 2024.

Lt. General Asim Malik previously served as the Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) for three years and has commanded divisions and brigades in Balochistan and South Waziristan.

He is regarded as a distinguished officer in the Pakistan Army and has been awarded the Sword of Honour.

Additionally, he has served as an instructor at the National Defence University and Staff College in Quetta.
