ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Narowal administration has announced a public holiday on Saturday, November 01, across the district on the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasaani of Alipur Syedan Sharif.
An official notification has also been issued by the Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza’s Office.
The notification stated that, in spite of the holiday, all the essential services, such as hospitals, emergency services, police, and municipal officials, will operate as usual.
The Urs celebrations of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasaani will be observed with religious enthusiasm, it added.
Hordes of pilgrims are likely to make their way to Alipur Syedan Sharif on the eve of the Urs, when pilgrims from across the nation will make their presence felt. Special arrangements are being made, as is the case every year, on the eve of the Urs this year as well.
Strict security will be enforced on the directives of the district administration to prevent any untoward incident. Special tasks have been allocated to the police, Rescue 1122, and health department personnel.
Quran recitation, Naat recitation, and spiritual meetings will be held during the Urs, as per sources.
Ulema and illustrious Mashaikhs will highlight the religious and spiritual services of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani. Separate arrangements are being made for food, ablution, and stay for the pilgrims.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza has urged people to assist the district administration on the day of the Urs and support peace and order. He stated that the message of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah is one of unity, peace, and brotherhood, which the hour requires us to adopt in this age.
