MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Another leopard was sighted near Muzaffarabad Airport couple of days after another leopard was captured from the city area, causing concern among locals.
The big cat killed three goats belonging to a resident, while no reports of human attacks were reported.
The authorities have requested the public to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement around the airport area.
Earlier on Tuesday, the AJK Wildlife Department successfully tamed a leopard that had been on the loose for more than 36 hours, bringing relief to the residents in the Center Plate neighborhood.
Reports emerged on social media late Sunday night that a leopard had been spotted in the Sathra area. Residents fanned out with torches and mobile phone lights to trace it, but in vain.
CCTV footage that surfaced later showed the animal roaming through Madina Market, a busy commercial hub about a kilometre away, without coming into contact with night watchmen or passers-by.
On Monday morning, the big cat was sighted in the Central Plate neighbourhood near Jinnah Dental Hospital, where it leapt past a female resident and crouched in an open plot beside her house.
