LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir Digital): Residents protested against an unannounced Leepa Valley power outage, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), today by blocking the road at Kapa Gali, giving the Power Development Organisation a one-hour ultimatum to restore electricity or face further action.
Residents of Leepa Valley took firm action against an unscheduled power failure by constructing a road blockade at Kapa Gali to show their dissatisfaction regarding the persistent electricity crisis. The Power Development Organisation (PDO) received a one-hour deadline from the protesters who became angry because of the long-lasting power outage. The demonstrators declared an immediate shutdown of the powerhouse operating system as their next step if they failed to receive prompt resolution of their complaints.
The demonstrators openly voiced their fury because the extended power outage had frozen all activities, particularly in the wintry climate. The protesters bitterly criticised the authorities because their repeated grievances had been ignored and pushed the residents to demonstrate against the powerhouse.
Protesters used chants to attack PDO officials about their lack of electricity restoration urgency while displaying signs at the demonstration. They told the authorities that they would expand their demonstration unless their requests received immediate attention. Too many days have passed since we started suffering. The protester concluded that patience was exhausted yet pointed out that people experienced intolerable circumstances due to electricity blackouts which affected students along with commerce and heating needs in cold conditions.
Progressive District Organisation administration has failed to address the growing public dissatisfaction regarding the power outage issue. Public tensions continue to increase because no intervention has occurred swiftly which is creating concerns about potential escalation.
According to local accounts, there have been other incidents of sudden power disruptions in Leepa Valley because unexplained power outages have developed into a frequent issue. The residents continue living in caution while waiting for appropriate measures from official authorities to stop the ongoing unrest and stabilise the situation.
