LEAs foil BLA's attempt to groom teen girl for suicide attack via social media

KARACHI (Kashmir English): In a groundbreaking move, the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have successfully rescued a teenage girl from a Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) who was allegedly influenced by the terror group on Instagram and other social media platforms.

While talking to the media, the minor girl made shocking revelations about how BLA uses social media to manipulate young minds, stating that BLA trapped her using social media, where she used to watch videos of other females getting training to become suicide bombers.

According to the Additional IG, the arrested girl stated that she watched Shaari Baloch’s video, after which she watched more videos and songs.

According to the Additional IG, the girl said that later she had a conversation with a person on Instagram. This person sent her a book and then added her to a WhatsApp group. According to the Additional IG, in this WhatsApp group, women who committed suicide were shown as heroes.

She said that in the group, it was said that if I did this, people would also remember me like Shaari Baloch. According to her, the girl was continuously provided with anti-state material, a BLA recruiting agent contacted the girl, and then the girl was regularly added to the WhatsApp group, where she was brainwashed.

The captured suicide bomber made further revelations, saying, “I left home on an excuse, I was told I was going to do a great job for the Baloch, I was caught again.” The captured girl said, “Those who show sympathy on social media are not helpers, they are predators.”

She further said, “Why don’t those who call suicide a solution give suicide bombs to their daughters, why do they give books and pens to their daughters?”

She additionally told that the BLA workers used to manipulate her by saying that if she were to become a suicide bomber, people of Balochistan would praise her for her bravery.

Moreover, she claimed to be a part of different social media groups, where videos or messages against the Pakistan army would be sent for them to watch.

The girl also added that a book was given to her in which other ”Heroic Stories” of the suicide bombers were written, portraying the glorified journey of becoming a suicide bomber.

Provincial Home Minister Zia Lanjar said that anti-state elements shaped the mind of the girl from Balochistan.
