Maintaining law and order, safety of citizens govt’s top priority: PM AJK

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Prime Minister (PM) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that maintaining law and order and protection of lives and properties of citizens in the Azad state were his government’s top priorities.

He was speaking at a special ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat in the state metropolis to pin the newly-promoted officers of various ranks of Azad Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday.

Earlier the Prime Minister, flanked by Senior Minister Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor and Inspector General of Police Rana Abdul Jabbar, pinned ranks of higher positions onto newly-promoted police officers in the ceremony. it was officially said.

The Premier congratulated the newly-promoted police officers and directed them to ensure discharge of their duties with devotion and dedication.

The PM praised the AJK police force for its significant role in ensuring the safety of the people and maintaining law and order in the region.

On this occasion, ministers including Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Abdul Majid Khan, Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim, Asim Sharif Butt, Secretary Information Sardar Adnan Khurshid and Deputy Inspector General of Police Irfan Masood Kashfi and others were also present.

The newly-promoted officers included one SP and 9 DSPs who were elevated on the basis of current charge, an official statement issued on this occasion said.

The newly-promoted police officers include Irfanul Haq Kiani, current charge SP NJHP Muzaffarabad; Ziaullah, current charge DSP SDPO Khoi Ratta Kotli; Akmal Sharif, current charge DSP Headquarters District Sidhanoti; Syed Shujaul Hassan Gilani, current charge DSP, Traffic Muzaffarabad; Muhammad Saeed, current charge DSP Traffic Region Poonch Region; Muhammad Akhtar Khan, current charge DSP SDPO Patika (Naseerabad) Muzaffarabad; Muhammad Sayab Khan, current charge DSP Headquarters Bagh; Muhammad Shahzad, current charge DSP Headquarters Kotli; Sikand Azam, current charge DSP Headquarters Mirpur and Sohail Yousuf, current charge DSP, according to the official statement.
