Major political shift as LA-18 Poonch-1 community joins PPP in Rawalpindi

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A large number of community members from LA-18 Poonch-1 Abbaspur joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Rawalpindi, where PPP AJK leaders welcomed them during a gathering at the Rawalpindi Press Club, today.

Members from LA-18 Poonch-1 Abbaspur living in Rawalpindi formally joined PPP at the Rawalpindi Press Club. The party leaders from PPP LA-18 Poonch-1 Abbaspur organized the event which took place at the press club.

A party function started with a Quran recitation before the representatives presented their speeches. Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore as the Chief Guest decided to welcome the new members into the party. He serves as both the General Secretary of PPP AJK and Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir government.

Confirmed figures on the stage at the event included Sardar Amjad Yousaf as the Vice President of PPP AJK Sardar Al-Shakoor as the Chairman of the PPP Study Circle AJK and Sardar Fauzi as the Chairman of PSF AJK and Aamir Khurshid as President of PPP Poonch District who joined other senior party officials such as Raja Ejaz, Malik Hafeez, Shabbir Ejaz Magray, Sardar Rashid, Ishtiaq Kayani, Malik Sher Ahmed and others.

The party welcomed numerous distinguished people from Abbaspur who trusted Sardar Amjad Yousaf and the PPP’s valuable mission. A diverse group of party members entered the organization including Sardar Imran Chughtai and Sardar Almas Akram in addition to Khawaja Abdul Aziz and Khawaja Muhammad Hanif and Khawaja Ziam Khurshid and Israr Farooq Butt followed by several more people. Well-known families such as Chughtais, Kayanis, Minhas and Sheikhs were among the new PPP members who affirmed diaspora support in Rawalpindi and its rapidly expanding base.

The party leaders of PPP received new members who would enhance PPP’s regional outreach according to their speech. The leaders stated that PPP maintains its dedication to democratic principles together with social justice alongside people-oriented leadership for Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s residents. During the event, the leadership renewed its promise to protect people’s rights while requesting more supporters to join their campaign for social advancement.

The event reached its conclusion by receiving strong backing from the attendees while dozens of participants made official commitments to PPP through their previously different party membership.
