PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi has lashed out at Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi for his ‘incompetence’ amid terror resurgence in the province, especially in Tirah and Kurram.

In a post on X on Monday, the governor came hard on the provincial chief executive for his failure to check terrorism and blaming others for the same.

“If a peaceful province was handed over to the provincial government in 2013 and today it is once again in the grip of terrorism, then who is responsible if not the provincial leadership?,” Kundi said in the post.

He further said if the chief executive of the province claims that intelligence-based operations are underway without the government’s approval and that he himself is unaware of what is happening in his own province, then that is not just incompetence, it is an open admission of a complete collapse in governance.

He advised the KP Chief Minister to end the rhetorical theatrics, saying the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in Tirah and Kurram, do not need speeches, rather they need leadership.

“The priority must be security and the immediate rehabilitation of IDPs, not political drama and chaos,” Kundi concluded.
