ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will undertake a two-day state visit to Pakistan today at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During his visit, King Abdullah will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
During the meetings, a complete range of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries will be discussed. A special investiture ceremony to confer the highest civilian award upon His Majesty will also take place at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
“This high-level visit reflects the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Jordan. It will further strengthen the strategic direction of Pakistan-Jordan relations and elevate them to a higher trajectory, encompassing a comprehensive and broad-based partnership in political, economic, and cultural spheres,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi on Friday confirmed that Jordon’s King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein will undertake a state visit to Pakistan on November 15-16.
The visit, he said, reflects the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two countries. He said that the king will hold meetings with the president and the prime minister, with the agenda expected to cover enhanced cooperation in defence, trade, regional peace, and counter-terrorism.
Earlier today, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto discussed bilateral ties and paths for greater collaboration in the fields of economy, defence, and trade in Jakarta, according to Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.
