ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Leader of the Opposition in AJK Assembly held important meetings with senior party leaders in Islamabad.
He met with PTI central leaders Amjad Khan Niazi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar, and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
During the meetings, strategy for the proposed protest for Imran Khan’s release after Muharram-ul-Haram was discussed. Detailed talks were also held regarding the political situation in Azad Kashmir and the upcoming elections there.

Khawaja Farooq Ahmed also met with Ms. Halima Khan at the special court in Rawalpindi and assured her of full cooperation from PTI Azad Kashmir and strong participation in the protest movement.
On this occasion, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed expressed hope that the central leadership of the party would also pay full attention to the affairs of Azad Kashmir so that Tehreek-e-Insaf could strongly and effectively participate in the upcoming elections.
He said that in the current political environment, a “trading” market has been established in the AJK adding the public will teach a lesson to these involved in horse trading, in the upcoming elections.
He said legal and other relevant forums will be approached within the next three to four days against individuals who were elected on PTI tickets and joined other parties, so that those who sell political loyalties could be held accountable.
Khawaja Farooq further said that whenever a call is given for Imran Khan’s release, PTI workers in Azad Kashmir will participate enthusiastically.
Junaid Akbar Awan, Abbas Butt, and Khawaja Shahzad, along with other candidates for the AJK assembly were also present with him.
