MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the Accession to Pakistan Resolution adopted by the Kashmiri leadership during its historic summit in Srinagar on July 19 1947, remains an important milestone in the ongoing freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.

In his special message issued on the occasion of Accession to Pakistan Day, the Prime Minister said the crucial meeting held at the residence of the founding President of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, in Srinagar, decided to align Kashmir’s fate with Pakistan.

The resolution, he said, demanded the Maharaja of Kashmir to accede to Pakistan, citing the Muslim majority of the state and its geographical proximity to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister, while emphasizing the importance of the resolution, clarified that it was a powerful expression of the unbreakable ideological and emotional bond between the Kashmiri people with Pakistan.

Kashmiris’ love for Pakistan

“Kashmiris’ love for the state of Pakistan runs like blood in their veins”, he said, adding that this affection for the state of Pakistan is deeply rooted in their faith.

Quoting the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said that “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan”, an ideology that still resonates deeply with the Kashmiri people.

He said that this ideological bond, which connects Kashmiris to Pakistan, unnerves India. PM Haq remarked that India has miserably failed in its attempts to break the Kashmiris’ resolve through its military might.

The prime minister, while highlighting the matchless sacrifices of the Kashmiri people noted that in Jammu alone, 250, 000 Muslims were martyred because of their love for Pakistan.

He, however, maintained that despite the magnitude of atrocities, the Kashmiris’ resolve remains unshaken.

He expressed the optimism that the day was not far off when the Kashmiri people will achieve their cherished goal.
