MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Women’s head Mehnaz Qureshi has said that Kashmiri women are the most important part of resistance against Indian oppression and tyranny in the ongoing freedom movement.
She urged the United Nations to play its role for a fair solution to the Kashmir issue.
While addressing a women’s training workshop here, she said that the ongoing resistance movement in the Indian-occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir is in accordance with the principles and regulations of the United Nations.
She said that India has been in Kashmir as a usurper and occupier for the past 76 years.
Mehnaz paid tribute to the women who sacrificed their lives in the ongoing freedom movement of Kashmir and said that every citizen of the state owes their sacrifice higher than the Himalayas.
She further said that even today many of our great women including Syeda Asia Andrabi, Fahmida Sufi, and Nahida Nasreen are imprisoned in Indian jails.

Qureshi said that the role of women of Azad Kashmir has become very important in the struggle for freedom of Kashmir because women in Occupied Kashmir have become the easiest target of the Indian Army.
Mehnaz Qureshi demanded the United Nations Security Council to take steps for a just, long-lasting and permanent solution to the Kashmir issue as per its passed resolutions.
She reiterated in her address that in the struggle for freedom of Kashmir, women will be part of the resistance against the Indian occupation and oppressive imperialism along with men.
