Kashmir to experience fresh spell of wet weather from Feb 25-28: Forecast

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Meteorological experts have issued a forecast for light to moderate rain and snow at most locations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir between February 25 and 28.

Isolated heavy snowfall is expected in both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, according to the report.

The State has already experienced a sharp decline in temperatures, with day temperatures plummeting by 6-14°C in many areas. Mirpur saw the highest temperature at 15.5°C.

The Meteorological experts have warned of a fresh spell of wet weather from February 25 to 28, advising residents to stay updated with official weather warnings as the light to moderate snow and rain may disrupt daily life.

Meanwhile, for residents venturing outdoors, the authorities have recommended covering up and minimizing exposure to chill factors.

Potential life disruptions in Kashmir

Local authorities have put plans in place to address potential disruptions caused by the severe weather, including traffic management on major roadways and access to emergency services.

According to the officials, another western disturbance is expected to affect the region around February 24, potentially bringing even more snowfall and rainfall.

Citizens have been urged to stay updated on the weather announcements and to prepare their plans accordingly.
