WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): A Washington-based Kashmir advocacy organization has launched a digital truck advertising campaign to commend U.S. President Donald Trump’s role in easing the recent spike in tensions between nuclear-armed neighbors India and Pakistan.

The group also called for sustained international efforts to resolve the longstanding Kashmir conflict.

The initiative, led by the World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF), displayed messages on digital screens urging Trump to continue his involvement in the region and push for a lasting resolution.
Among the rotating messages on the trucks were;

“Ceasefire without addressing the Kashmir problem cannot sustain.”

“With President Trump’s intervention, hostilities cease: He deserves the Nobel Prize for Peace.”

“Kashmir problem requires final resolution: President Trump needs your intervention”

“Talks on Kashmir should ensue: President Trump thanks for raising the issue.”

“Kashmir conflict should be heeded: Mediation of President Trump is highly needed.”

“Kashmiris condemn killings and yearn for tranquility: President Trump urges parties to exhibit rationality.”

“Pressure on India for negotiations should remain.”

“Kashmir problem can lead to annihilation: World demands President Trump’s mediation.”

“When Kashmir becomes a nuclear flash point, it is no longer a bilateral issue but an international one.”

Kashmiri Leaders Praise Trump’s Mediation

Dr. Ghulam N. Mir, President of WKAF and Chairman of the Kashmiri Diaspora Coalition, emphasized that the region had narrowly avoided a catastrophic war just a week prior due to India’s occupation of Kashmir and the resistance of its people.

He noted that for decades, the U.S. has upheld the right of Kashmiris to self-determination and that Trump has emerged as a key international figure advocating for peace in the region.

Dr. Imtiaz Khan, a Kashmiri-American scholar, warned that although tensions have subsided, the underlying conflict remains unresolved. He credited Trump’s “exemplary sagacity” for averting a full-scale war, which could have had devastating consequences for a significant portion of the world’s population.

Dr. Khan also cautioned against India’s continued “jingoism and saber-rattling,” calling for sustained diplomatic focus on the issue.

Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace and Justice, commended Trump’s diplomacy in brokering the ceasefire, stating it potentially saved millions of lives. He expressed hope that Trump’s leadership could lead to a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute.

“The resolution of the Kashmir issue will bring great honor to the one who facilitates it. That honor could belong to President Trump,” said Dr. Fai.

Sardar Zarif Khan, Advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir, stated that Trump’s intervention was a meaningful step towards regional peace and expressed hope for a lasting dialogue.

Sardar Zubair Khan of the Voice of Justice in Kashmir emphasized the need for Kashmiri-Americans to acknowledge Trump’s leadership, while Sardar Shoaib Irshad of the Kashmir American Welfare Association highlighted the urgency of renewed diplomatic efforts following the India-Pakistan standoff.

Raja Liaqat Kayani, President of the Kashmir House in Washington, concluded that the recent ceasefire helped avert a nuclear disaster, and urged collective appreciation for Trump’s efforts toward mediation.
