MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved the appointment of Justice Shahid Bahar as the head of the Judicial Commission formed to review the privileges enjoyed by senior government officials under the agreement between the Azad Kashmir government and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
According to the notification, Justice Syed Shahid Bahar was nominated by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and will now lead the commission established on May 13, 2024.
As per details, the Judicial Commission has been tasked with examining the official perks and privileges extended to senior government figures in AJK. The government agreed to assess the privileges during negotiations with the Joint Awami Action Committee last year.
