ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Justice Liaquat Shaheen took oath as the acting Chief Justice of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court on Monday.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at Jammu and Kashmir House in Islamabad, where the President of the State, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, administered the oath.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, ministers, bureaucrats, and other important personalities.
Also present on the occasion were a large number of political leaders, including former Prime Minister Haji Sardar Yaqoob Khan, judges of the High Court and lower courts, presidents of various bar associations, the Vice Chairman of the Supreme Court Bar Association, and a large number of lawyers.
