MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF- Yasin Malik) has strongly condemned the missile attack at several places in AJK and Pakistan by India that took the lives of over 30 innocent civilians including women, children and elderly, and injured around 50 others.

A girl child of Muzaffarabad and a 20 years old young girl of Khoiratta, Kotli fell prey to this missile attack while they were in their respective houses.

Frustrated attempt by India

According to a statement issued from the party’s central information office, the JKLF (Yasin) chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar termed the attack as shameful, deplorable and a frustrated attempt of Modi-led extremist government of India.

He said that the people in the region and the international community were very much concerned about the war hysteria created by the Modi government and Indian media after the Pahalgam incident.

The missile attacks in the darkness of night between 6 and 7 May were launched mostly at civilian areas of district Muzaffarabad and Kotli (Nakyal and Khoiratta), targeting residential houses and mosques besides continued shelling and exchange of heavy fire at various other places on ceasefire line, the spokesman said.

He said this blatant missile attack on civilian population under so called “Operation Sindoor” cannot deter the resilient people of Azad Jammu Kashmir who are always ready to defend their motherland from any kind of aggression.

Since missile attacks have taken innocent lives and injured many, the international community needs to intervene before the situation goes from bad to worse, the spokesman said calling that core issue of Kashmir needs to be resolved at the earliest.

According to the statement, the JKLF spokesman appealed to the global community to intervene and stop the two nuclear powers from further escalating the situation.

The spokesman emphasized that the current volatile situation demands for the just, peaceful, permanent, viable and democratic resolution of the core issue of Jammu Kashmir in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of the entire disputed State.
