PARIS (Kashmir English): Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Forum France, member of the Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Muslim League-N, and former Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for Europe, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, has strongly condemned the actions of Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the media here, he stated that while India continues its ruthless killings to suppress Kashmiri voices, it is also systematically destroying the region’s natural resources and economy.
Large-scale fires in Kashmiri forests
He said that India has turned the entire occupied region into a military garrison, establishing camps and training ranges in cities, towns, villages, and even forests. He expressed deep concern over large-scale fires in Kashmiri forests, allegedly set by Indian forces to target Kashmiri resistance fighters more easily.
He highlighted the incidents of fires in Srinagar’s Harwan Shankaracharya Range, Tral to Pahalgam in South Kashmir, and forests in Rafiabad, Bandipora, Ganderbal, and other areas.
Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar also condemned India’s ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC), headed by Kashmiri chief cleric and Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM), headed by Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, calling it yet another oppressive move by the occupying forces.
He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being responsible for crimes against Kashmiris, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, torture, suppression of free speech, and illegal confiscation of properties.
He further stated that international human rights organizations have confirmed these violations in their reports.
He urged the global community to take immediate action against India’s ongoing atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
