NEELUM (Kashmir English): In a devastating accident, a vehicle fell into a deep ravine in Neelum Valley, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a woman, and injuring a child.
The incident occurred in the Shindas area of Neelum when the jeep was heading from Kel to Taubat, tourist spots in the valley.
The deceased tourists were identified as Dr. Zeeshan Shahid, 38, and his wife, Anmol Haroon, 32, the residents of Karachi, while their infant daughter miraculously survived.
The driver of the vehicle, Farooq Ahmed, and conductor Muhammad Asif, both residents of Phullawai village, also died on the spot.
An accident occurred at around 1 pm today due to heavy rain and slippery road conditions. The Pakistan Army and local volunteers participated in the rescue operations under the supervision of Commanding Officer Halmat.
The injured and dead bodies were transferred to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Kel.
District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Neelum completed the arrangements for sending the bodies of the deceased couple to Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, after offering their funeral prayers.
