WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): The White House on Wednesday confirmed that the United States delegation led by Vice President JD Vance will take part in negotiations with Iran in Islamabad.
“The first round of those talks will take place on Saturday morning local time, and we know we look forward to those in-person meetings,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Wednesday.
US President Donald Trump is dispatching a team led by Vice President JD Vance, along with Trump advisers Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, for the talks, she said.
Leavitt added that Iran proposed a more reasonable plan to end the Middle East war after originally putting forward one that the US deemed to be unacceptable.
The press secretary said that the president’s red lines, namely the end of Iranian enrichment in Iran, have not changed.
She further said
The United States held high-level talks with China on Iran, the White House said on Wednesday.
“With respect to China, there were conversations that took place between top levels of our government and China’s government,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters, without providing further details.
