MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has announced a protest demonstration against India for the unlawful and continued imprisonment of Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Yasin Malik.

The decision came after the Kashmir Digital questioned JAAC for not demonstrating or raising their voice for the release of Yasin Malik, Asiya Andrabi, and other Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders imprisoned in Indian jails.

While talking to the Kashmir Digital, a citizen expressed concerns that awami action committee protests daily in Azad Kashmir, but they don’t protest for Yasin Malik and other leaders subjected to atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Considering the criticism, the JAAC, after its core committee meeting on Wednesday, said that it will hold a protest demonstration in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, January 27, against the continued imprisonment of Yasin Malik for his peaceful freedom struggle and the attempts to extrajudicially murder him by the Indian government.

The committee further announced that it will also submit a protest letter to the United Nations for Yasin Malik’s release, and also appealed to the overseas Kashmiris to protest outside Indian embassies wherever possible across the world.
